Cultural Development During The Carolingian Renaissance

One cultural development was during the Carolingian Renaissance. In an attempt to unify his empire Charlemagne directed that the Christian worship practices of city of Rome should become the norm throughout his territories. Charlemagne then sent one his scholar courtiers to ask Pope Hadrian I for a â€Å"pure Gregorian â€Å"sacramentary. However, this book was incomplete and as a result it was supplemented with texts and ceremonies familiar to Frankish worshipers.
